Threads App Introduces Edit Button For Users At No Cost
Meta-owned microblogging platform Threads has launched an edit button to attract more users to its platform. This free feature allows users to make changes to their messages within five minutes of sending them, so they can quickly fix errors or update the message.
Elon Musk-owned social media platform X released a similar feature for paid subscribers only. However, Threads provides the same edit button to all users for free. Previously, a Threads user had to delete a post and resubmit it when they wanted to correct a typo.
“Edit and ‘Voice Threads’ are launching today. Enjoy,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said. According to the company, the Threads app edit button option is available on mobile and web.
Threads’ edit button allows you to change a message within just five minutes of sending it. After that, you can’t make any more edits. You also won’t be able to see what the post looked like before it was edited because threads don’t show edit history.
The Meta-owned platform is also adding the ability to allow users to share voice notes within the app. You can use it by tapping the new microphone button and recording their voice. This note is then shared on the platform.
According to reports, some users already have access to the Edit button and voice memos, and the features are expected to reach more users soon.
Since the launch of Threads, the company has regularly added new features, such as a chronological next feed, a web client, and the ability to search for messages.
According to IANS, Threads is also preparing to launch a Trends feature to compete with Elon-Musk-owned X. The potential feature was discovered by an app developer who shared screenshots of the feature originally posted by a Meta employee.
